Creek brings together wool, rocks, plants, and water gathered from three locations in the Gallatin Valley. Each material carries a different temporality of the place: the seasonal rhythms of growth and decay, the life cycles of sheep, geological time embedded in stone, and the continual movement of water through weather, watershed, infrastructure, and everyday life. These materials remain inseparable from the ecological, social, and political systems in which they participate. Each piece in this series is embedded with multiple associations and changes significantly throughout the day and the seasons in its interaction with the light and the environment The pieces are not representations of the place but they are themselves place. They are the oblique glimpses of the place.
